The mesh used in the simulation is unstructured, primarily consisting of triangular elements. The minimum edge length of the mesh is set to 3.1416e-002 m, ensuring a sufficiently fine resolution. Additionally, a prism layer is included near the surface of the cylinder to better capture the flow behavior in that region. When applying edge sizing on the cylinder's boundary, the mesh takes into account the curvature of the cylinder, ensuring accurate representation.<\/p><p>For the boundary conditions and solver settings, the Reynolds number (Re) is set to 200, indicating a laminar flow regime. The solver employed is a pressure-based solver. In the pressure-velocity coupling, a coupled scheme is used. The momentum equation is discretized using the second-order upwind scheme, while the pressure equation is discretized using the second-order scheme. The transient formulation is based on the second-order implicit method, allowing for accurate time integration of the unsteady flow behavior.<\/p><p>To ensure the stability of the numerical method, the Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy (CFL) condition is enforced. The Courant number is limited to a value of 1, meaning that the time step size (\u2206t) is determined accordingly. Considering the CFL condition, a maximum time step size of 0.00243 seconds is calculated based on the formula.
